This session introduces fundamentals of steering for new and developing steerspeople. You’ll learn boat set-up and safety checks, essential hand and foot positions for oar control, and basic techniques for guiding the boat smoothly.

We’ll emphasise clear communication between the helm and paddlers, and quick troubleshooting for common issues.

Who Should Attend: New steers people and developing steers looking to build confidence; paddlers who want to support steering practice are needed.
