Confidence in dragon boating doesn’t arrive with a single stroke or a perfect race. It’s built quietly, practice by practice, as we show up for one another and commit to the boat we are in. It grows when we take our seat, pick up the paddle, and give our best — even when we’re unsure how it will go. Every time we push through doubt together, we strengthen our belief in ourselves and in our crew. Confidence isn’t about having everything figured out; it’s about trusting the process, our coach, the training, and the people beside you.

At Inlet Spirit, we believe momentum is created through shared effort and consistency. Big goals are achieved one stroke at a time — by showing up, staying engaged, and committing to the work. Progress doesn’t come from perfection; it comes from persistence. Whether we’re chasing race results, personal growth, or a stronger connection to the water, we know that clarity and confidence are built through action and teamwork.

You don’t need to be fearless to paddle with Inlet Spirit — you just need to be willing. Willing to learn, willing to challenge yourself, and willing to contribute to something bigger than any one paddler. Dragon boating isn’t always smooth or easy, but growth rarely is. What matters most is that we keep paddling forward together, learning with every stroke, and believing in the team — and the athletes — we’re becoming.

You might be a great fit for Inlet Spirit if you:

  • Are already living an active lifestyle, with a basic fitness routine or regular physical activity, and are ready to apply that energy to a team sport on the water.

  • Can commit to training twice weekly on weekdays, or Saturdays during the off-season, understanding that consistency is key to both individual and team progress.

  • Value teamwork and shared effort, and are willing to paddle in sync, take feedback, and support the crew — on and off the water.

  • Are open to learning and improving, whether you’re new to dragon boating or bringing prior paddling experience.

  • Show up with a positive, respectful attitude, knowing that trust, communication, and reliability matter just as much as strength.

  • Are motivated by growth, both personal and collective, and want to be part of building something together as a new team.

At Inlet Spirit, commitment isn’t about being perfect — it’s about being present. We’re looking for paddlers who are willing to invest in the process, support their teammates, and help create a strong, connected crew.

Youth & U24 Development Pathway

Inlet Spirit is committed to growing the sport of dragon boating by investing in youth athletes and creating clear pathways for development. In 2026, we will be launching a U24 team, and we’re inviting interested students and young adults to be part of this next chapter — whether you’re new to dragon boating or already have paddling experience. Dragon boating is a co-ed, inclusive and supportive sport.

The U24 program will operate from April through June, with paddlers training together as a crew and competing in a minimum of three race events during the season. This program is designed to introduce athletes to structured team training, race preparation, and the fundamentals of competitive dragon boating in a supportive, development-first environment.

Dragon boating is a team sport built on commitment, communication, and shared effort. You don’t need to have it all figured out to get started. What matters most is a willingness to learn, show up consistently, and contribute to the boat. Our focus is on building strong paddling foundations, improving fitness, and developing confidence on the water — all while learning what it means to train and compete as part of a team.

If you’re active, curious about paddling, and excited by the idea of being part of something that’s growing, we encourage you to register your interest below. This form helps us understand your background, availability, and goals as we shape a balanced and supportive U24 program for the 2026 season.

Whether you’re taking your first stroke or preparing for your next level of competition, Inlet Spirit is a place to learn, grow, and paddle forward together.
