What an incredibly positive day for our Inlet Spirit crews at the 2026 Vessi 500 Championship in Vancouver!

As a brand-new club in our first season, this year is all about building teamwork, developing connection, and growing together on and off the water. Every race provides another opportunity to learn, improve, and strengthen our culture—and that's exactly what happened this weekend.

The day took an unexpected turn when a major incident at the event resulted in the cancellation of all semi-final races. Instead of the usual three-race format, teams advanced directly from their qualifying races into finals, meaning every crew had just two opportunities to showcase their progress.

Our Women's crew opened the day with a strong third-place finish in their qualifier before stepping up in the Women's B Final. The crew delivered one of their best performances of the season, improving by an incredible 15 seconds and crossing the finish line in 2:29.008.

Our Mixed crew also showed impressive growth. After a solid opening race, they found another gear in the Mixed E Final, posting a strong time of 2:12.88 and continuing to build confidence against experienced competition. The team was just a fraction of a second behind third place, and could have placed 2nd in the D division by their race time results.

Adding to the excitement, our U24 development crew, Inlet Storm, put together an outstanding day on the water. Racing against strong competition, the team powered their way to a third-place finish in their final and earned a spot on the podium. This is their final race of the season and we couldn’t be more proud!

While race results are always exciting, what stands out most is the progress we're seeing every week. The determination, commitment, and camaraderie continues to grow, and those qualities are laying the foundation for future success.

We are incredibly proud of every paddler, our coaches, drummers, steerspersons, and family members who helped make the day possible.

Congratulations to everyone who represented our club at the Vessi 500. The journey is just getting started, and the future looks bright.
