Dentons donates to ISPS Youth Program

Strong communities are built through partnerships, and Inlet Spirit Paddling Society is proud to recognize Dentons Canada LLP for its generous support of our Youth Program.

Recently, Inlet Spirit President Jason Farmer accepted a donation on behalf of the Society from Nana Umbach, a paralegal with Dentons' Vancouver office and one of our own Inlet Spirit paddlers. Nana's enthusiasm for our youth initiative and her efforts in connecting Inlet Spirit with Dentons have helped create a partnership that will benefit young paddlers for years to come.

Founded more than 200 years ago, Dentons is the world's largest global law firm, with professionals serving clients in more than 80 countries. Its Vancouver office has a long-standing commitment to supporting local communities through volunteerism, sponsorships, and community investment. We're honoured that Dentons has chosen to support the next generation of dragon boat athletes.

This donation comes at an exciting time for our Society. Our inaugural Youth Program has already concluded, introducing young people to the sport of dragon boating while helping them develop confidence, teamwork, resilience, and leadership on and off the water. Watching these athletes grow over the season has been incredibly rewarding for our coaches, volunteers, and families.

As we begin planning for an even bigger and better Youth Program in 2027, support from community-minded organizations like Dentons will play an important role in expanding opportunities for young paddlers. Every contribution helps us provide quality coaching, equipment, safety resources, and memorable experiences that inspire a lifelong passion for the sport.

On behalf of everyone at Inlet Spirit Paddling Society, thank you to Dentons Canada LLP for believing in our vision and investing in the future of our youth.

And thank you to Nana Umbach for championing this partnership and for your ongoing support both on and off the water.

Help Us Grow in 2027

Planning for our 2027 Youth Program is already on the horizon, and we're excited to build on the success of our inaugural season.

If your business, organization, or family would like to help introduce more young people to dragon boating, we'd love to hear from you. Whether through sponsorship, financial support, equipment donations, or community partnerships, your investment will help us create more opportunities for youth to learn, grow, and thrive.

Together, we can build the next generation of paddlers—one stroke at a time.
