Building Skills for Safety

Scott Aylett of Clover Valley Trauma Management

Safety and preparedness are an important part of being part of a paddling community — both on and off the water.

On September 20, Inlet Spirit hosted a CPR and AED Level C certification session, providing members with an opportunity to build important emergency-response skills and earn a three-year certification.

The session was led by Scott Aylett of Clover Valley Trauma Management, and we were pleased to open the training to members of other Old Mill Boathouse Society member clubs as well.

Having trained and certified members within our club and across our waterfront community provides an added level of preparedness and peace of mind. While we hope these skills are never needed, being prepared to respond in an emergency is something we believe is well worth the time and effort.

A special thank you to teammate Rich for recommending Scott as an instructor, and a big shoutout to Braidey for organizing the session and making this important training opportunity happen.

Congratulations to our Inlet Spirit certificate holders: Dee, Nana, Marcus, Phoebe, Lori, Braidey; and to two Draggin’ Divas, Susan and Julie.

We’re so proud to have you adding these valuable skills to our team!

Safety first — on the water, around the boathouse and wherever life takes us.
